Laser Facial Hair Removal

December 16th, 2009 in Laser Hair Removal

Among the countless methods developed in recent years to help women combat unsightly and unwanted facial hair, perhaps none is more effective than laser facial hair removal – a modern procedure developed as an alternative to traditional facial hair removal techniques such as shaving, waxing, or bleaching.  Unlike these somewhat antiquated methods, laser hair removal is almost always faster, easier, and completely pain free and can be used on virtually any area on the face, be it unwanted sideburns, chin hairs, or those pesky little hairs on the upper lip.  In fact, the process is so quick and simple that it is often described as a “lunch time” procedure – an appointment a woman can make over her lunch break and still have time to meet some friends at her favorite café or bistro.

Of course, this is not to say that laser facial hair removal is just for women.  The truth is that men in cities all across the United States and Canada are discovering laser hair removal as an alternative to the seemingly ancient and abrasive morning shaving ritual.  Gone are the days when a man would be forced to drag a sharp, possibly rusty blade across his face or neck each morning and as society becomes more and more accustomed to the idea men will continue to flock in droves to this pain free technique.  Those who laugh or scoff at the idea of men using this procedure would be wise to remember the example set by the introduction of the electric shaver which was initially laughed off as a “gimmick” or novelty piece.

Naturally, the procedure is not without its costs, however, that is not to say that laser facial hair removal procedures are out of your price range or unaffordable.  Most patients will require a few visits at around two to four hundred dollars per session depending on where you live and what particular doctor or clinic you visit for the procedure.  While this may sound a bit on the pricey, it’s actually quite a steal when you stop and consider how much money laser hair removal treatments will save you in the long run.  Since the effects of laser treatments are permanent, you can save thousands of dollars by never having to buy razor, shaving cream, or other products ever again.

Now before you run out and make your first appointment, you will want to explore all your options and possibly even consult your physician as, with any procedure, there’s always the reality that it’s just not for everyone.  Some individuals suffer from particularly sensitive skin while others still find that their own hair, for whatever reason, resists the treatment and continues to grow back.  With that being said, for the vast majority of people out there – be them women or men – laser facial hair removal is often times quite simply the best all around option for removing unwanted facial hair based on its convenience, costs, and relative ease in which the procedure can be carried out.
